About Ross
Ross, gardener, Upper Riccarton
I'm Ross. I studied ecology at Lincoln University and have worked in gardens and on restoration planting since my uni days, so I know what a plant is before I cut it. That sounds small until someone prunes your camellia in October.
I work on my own. There is no crew, so the person who reads your photos, gives you the hours and turns up in your garden is the same person every time, and you never have to explain the garden twice. I weed by hand, prune at the right time of year, and take everything I cut with me. All my power tools are electric, which keeps things quiet for you and the neighbours.
I text the day before a visit and again when I am on my way. If I ever have to move a visit, you hear from me first, with the same 24 hours' notice I ask of you. In Canterbury that is rare, and it is mostly about mowing in the wet.
I live in Upper Riccarton and work the suburbs around it. Most of my week is regular visits, every two or three weeks, keeping gardens under control so they never need a big rescue. If yours needs one first, that is where I start.
